Dear Friends, like every year the Studio d'Arte Andromeda has been invited to join the Festival of Economy that will be held in Trento from 3 to 6 June 2021.

THE INTERVIEWS:
On the occasion of the Trento Festival of Economics, the Andromeda Art Studio, not being able to be present with a stand in the square and unable to share with you our friends and guests designers, will meet some characters of the national design scene live on its own FACEBOOK page.
We will discuss around the theme of the Festival - The return of the State. Businesses, communities, institutions - reflecting on the past year in its many facets.

Luigi Penasa, Rudi Patauner and Umberto Rigotti will show us the online exhibition "Smiles from the World" of which you can view, during the Festival period, a selection of 20 cartoons displayed in the windows of some shops in the city center of Trento.

The Festival and the exhibition will be held online and partially in some SHOPS in the center of Trento.
The works will be visible online in our ECONOMIA/WORKS section where it will be possible to vote for your favorite work electronically.

“The coronavirus pandemic has driven the public sector to enter even more invasively into our lives, regulating every aspect of our daily activities. Let’s be clear about this, it has done so with good reason, and other countries that have seen less invasive action by their governments have bitterly regretted it.
The fact remains that when we finally come out of the emergency, we will find ourselves with a hypertrophic state that has moved into fields left exclusively to private initiative in
the past.
The end of the pandemic can be an opportunity to redefine the confines of the state and to reinforce its presence where this is most needed, at the same time planning its withdrawal elsewhere.
What should the public sector do for its citizens, and what on the other hand should merely be regulated and left to private initiative? And what should the response be to private sector players that do not limit themselves to pursuing their own individual or company interests, but that organise themselves into communities, or third sector associations capable of concerning themselves with the common good as well as, if not better, than the public sector? We should also review how the state can carry out these activities in a more efficient manner.
The pandemic has been a stress test for the public administration. In many cases it has failed, and we must learn from these negative lessons no less than from the positive ones. We can also learn a great deal from the interaction between the public administration and democratic institutions, and between the technostructure and politics.

Si discuterà attorno al tema del Festival - Il ritorno dello Stato. Imprese, comunità, istituzioni - riflettendo sull’anno trascorso nelle sue molteplici sfaccettature.

"La pandemia di coronavirus ha spinto il settore pubblico a entrare in modo ancora più invasivo nelle nostre vite, regolando ogni aspetto della nostra quotidianità. Intendiamoci, lo ha fatto per buone ragioni e altri paesi, che hanno avuto uno Stato meno invadente, se ne sono pentiti amaramente.
Fatto sta che, anche quando finalmente usciremo dall’emergenza, ci ritroveremo uno Stato ipertrofico che ha invaso campi in passato riservati esclusivamente all’iniziativa privata.
La fine della pandemia può essere l’occasione per ridisegnare i confini dello Stato e per rafforzare la sua presenza dove ce n’è maggiore necessità, contemporaneamente progettandone la ritirata altrove.
Cosa deve fare il settore pubblico per i propri cittadini e cosa invece deve limitarsi unicamente a regolare e a lasciare all’iniziativa privata? E come trattare il privato che non si limita a perseguire i propri interessi individuali o di impresa, ma che si organizza in comunità, in associazioni del terzo settore capaci di occuparsi del bene comune al pari, se non meglio, del settore pubblico? Dovremo anche rivedere come lo Stato possa svolgere queste attività in modo più efficiente.
La pandemia è stato uno stress test per le amministrazioni pubbliche. In non pochi casi hanno fallito e dobbiamo imparare da queste lezioni in negativo non meno che da quelle in positivo. Possiamo poi apprendere molto anche dalle interazioni fra amministrazioni pubbliche e istituzioni democratiche, fra tecnostruttura e politica.
